Ingredients for Bhindi Fry/Okra fry recipe

To make the Bhindi Fry/Okra fry

  • 200 gm bhindi/okra
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon kashmiri chilli powder (for colour)
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon hing (Asafetida)
  • 2 tablespoon besan
  • 2 tablespoon rice flour
  • 8 to 10 curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

To garnish

  • Few coriander leaves

Preparation of Bhindi fry/Okra fry recipe

To make the Bhindi fry/Okra fry

  • Wash bhindi/okra thoroughly, dry them as much as possible, keep them in a kitchen towel for 30 min.
  • After 30 min remove the sides and slice vertically into thin strips. If it is too long then cut bhindi horizontally into two parts.

  • Place the sliced bhindi into a big mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle all the spices in it.
  • Mix them well and add little water in it. It will be a little sticky but helps in adhering the masala paste on the vegetable.

  • Take a frying pan and add oil to it.
  • Heat it well. Then one by one fry the bhindi/okra in the pan on medium flame until bhindi becomes crispy and brown in color.

  • Now take them out on a tissue paper so that the extra oil is soaked by the tissue paper.
  • Now have it hot with tea or in the break time.

  • Eat hot and fresh.
  • Make sure the bhindi is dry before slicing it into pieces.
