Ingredients for Cream of Spinach Soup recipe

To make the Cream of Spinach Soup

  • 1 bunch of Fresh Spinach
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp white flour(maida)
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3-4 tbsp fresh cream
  • 1/4 tbsp black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Of Cream of Spinach Soup recipe

To make the Cream of Spinach Soup

  • Clean and thoroughly wash the spinach.
  • Blanch the spinach: put it in boiling water for a minute and then put it under cold running water.
  • Blend the spinach into a fine puree.
  • Take out the puree in a pan. To the puree add water and milk. Mix well and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan and put butter to it.
  • Add flour and garlic to the butter and mix well so that no lumps are formed.
  • To the pan add the puree mixture which you have kept aside.
  • Add salt and fresh cream.
  • Bring it to boil and cook for a minute.
  • Serve hot.

Recipe notes

Tips

  • Do not boil spinach for more than a minute while blanching else spinach will lose its nutrients and colour.
