To make the Double Layer Lauki Barfi

  • Lauki grated 1 cup
  • khoya 1 cup
  • sugar 1 cup
  • green colour (optional) 1 drop
  • milk powder 1 cup
  • milk 1/2 cup
  • dry fruits chopped 1 tablespoon
  • ghee 1 teaspoon

Preparation Of Double Layer Lauki Barfi recipe

To make the Double Layer Lauki Barfi

  • Place a deep pan over low flame.
  • Add ghee, milk, sugar, milk powder and lauki. Add the green colour and stir it for a while.
  • The mixture gets a semi-solid consistency.
  • Stir until the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Turn off the flame. The lauki layer is ready.
  • Again, place a deep pan over low flame.
  • Add ghee, milk, sugar, and khoya. Stir it for a while.
  • The mixture gets a semi-solid consistency.
  • Stir until the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Turn off the flame. The khoya layer is ready.
  • Grease a flat glass container and put a baking paper into it in such a way that the paper is overhanging at the sides.
  • Add the white khoya mixture into the container.
  • Use a spatula to spread the mixture in one single layer.
  • Add the lauki mixture on top of the khoya layer.
  • Use a spatula to spread the lauki mixture in a single layer.
  • Smoothen the top.
  • Place the container in the fridge for an hour to set.
  • Once set, cut into desired shapes and serve.
