It has fitted bodice and is flared at the waist. In 1850’s the same type of dress might have been called an evening dress, having very similar features.

2. Mermaid Gownsgowns

Mermaid style is one of the trendy styles of this season. This gown is fitted till the calves and then “fishtails” out in a flare to the floor. Mermaid gown is perfect for hourglass body shape.

3. Empire Waist Gownsgowns

Empire waist Gown gives a royal look. It has a high waistline. This gown hides tummy completely and gives a perfect body shape. This gown is perfect for diamond shape body. Those women who are pregnant can also wear this gown because the tummy is covered in this dress.

4. Sheath Gownsgowns

Sheath Gown is a straight cut gown. Usually, it doesn’t have any flares but sometimes little flare is added to it. This gown is a great option for petite shape and rectangular shape body.

5. A-Line Gownsgowns

A-line gown is suitable for almost everybody types. It is elegant and fitted at hips and flares out from the waistline to the floor which gives slim look. Hence the name A-line.

6. Trumpet Gowns

Trumpet Gown resembles a mermaid gown (Image no.2). Trumpet gown flares start from mid-thigh, which makes it easier for the lady to move. Trumpet gowns are very suitable for hourglass shape.
