    Menopause symptoms majorly include dryness, itching, and discomfort of the vagina. Some women may also experience pain during sex. This pain might be felt due to the reduction in estrogen level. This reduction in level may cause vaginal atrophy. Vaginal atrophy is a burning sensation in the vagina which happens due to the thinning and shrinking of the tissues, as well as decreased lubrication.

  • Hot flashes

    A sudden sensation of heat in the upper part of the body is known as hot flash. One may feel these hot flashes in the face, neck, or chest, and progress upward or downward. In hot flashes, the skin may become red and patchy, and a woman will typically start to sweat. The heart rate of the woman may suddenly increase, strengthen, or become irregular.   • Urinary problems

    The urinary cycle can be badly disturbed by the menopause. Women tend to become vulnerable to urinary tract infections (UTIs) while facing signs of menopause. They may also find that they also need to go to the toilet more often.

  • Emotional changes

    Women can experience a lot of mood swings as well as emotional changes during this period. They might also experience depression or low mood as a sign of menopause. Hormonal changes trigger the sad or the depressed feelings and mood swings. In many cases, these emotional symptoms may also be the reason for sleep disturbance.   • Immense hair loss and also thinning of hair.

Menopause treatment

If one doesn’t opt for menopause treatment then it is possible that the menopause tapper period may be between two to five years. In some of the cases, vaginal dryness, itching, and discomfort converts into chronic and may get worse without treatment

During menopause, women can pursue any menopause treatment to maintain comfort. Most of the women do not prefer to seek menopause treatment. However, a woman must visit a doctor if signs of menopause are affecting her life.

Women must go for the type of therapy depends on the menopausal symptoms, medical history, and personal preferences.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)

Women can help themselves to treat these signs of menopause by supplementing their estrogen and progestin levels. Hormone replacement therapy can be taken by putting a simple patch on the skin. This patch releases estrogen and progestin in the body which increases its level in the body. HRT is effective for many of the menopause symptoms. Hormonal therapy may cause a certain loss of the tissue in the brain area for thinking and memory among women aged 65 years and over.Menopause

  • Low-dose antidepressants: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) is usually prescribed to reduce the effect to decrease menopausal hot flashes. This drug includes:
  • Venlafaxine
  • Fluoxetine
  • Paroxetine
  • Citalopram
  • Drug treatment for hot flashes: Clonidine which contains gabapentin is helpful in treating hot flashes. This medicine can be taken orally or used as a patch on the skin. It is very much effective in treating hot flashes but the side effects of this medicine are constipation and dry eyes.
  • Osteoporosis treatments: The only way to treat osteoporosis is to give the patient dietary supplements and drug therapy which are very helpful.
  • Drug treatments for vaginal symptoms: The estrogen level can be increased by applying vaginal estrogen in the form of a tablet or a cream. This treatment is very much effective and helps in curing vaginal dryness, dyspareunia, and some urinary problems.

Menopause causes

As the age of the women increases, the estrogen level in her body decreases. Menopause is triggered by the dropping of estrogen and progesterone levels in the women’s body. Menstruation is regulated by estrogen and pregnancy-related preparation is done by progesterone in the woman’s body.Menopause

Menopause starts when there is less production of any of these two hormones by the ovaries. By the time woman begins her 40s, the estrogen, and progesterone in hardly produced by the ovaries. The fertility of the woman starts to decrease much time before the proper menopause. After a period of time, the menstruation cycle will stop completely. This change is one of the main menopause causes. Usually, in some cases, it is possible that the menstrual cycle of the woman continues as normal and then suddenly stops.

The ovaries tend to stop the production of eggs after the age of 45 years, but they may cease their own production long before then. This is called premature menopause.   • Hypothyroidism

Sometimes certain procedures or certain kind of surgeries are also responsible for premature ovarian failure or premature menopause causes, such as:

  • Ovaries removal surgery.
  • Womb removal surgery.
  • Surgery or the radiotherapy to the pelvic area.
  • Chemotherapy did to the pelvic area.
